Azimilide abolished SVT initiation during programmed stimulation by prolonging the ERP at stimulation sites, preventing early premature impulses and blocking the formation of conduction block lines.
Azimilide prevented VF initiation by causing conduction block of reentrant impulses in the EBZ during early beats of polymorphic tachycardia despite reverse use-dependent ERP prolongation.
