VF-only history was associated with lower MVT detection; leaves open distinct VF mechanisms and whether ICD programming should differ by prior arrhythmia.
Does a clinical history of only VF predict a lower incidence of subsequent MVT detected by ICD compared to a history including MVT in patients with malignant ventricular arrhythmias?
Patients with a history of only VF infrequently have MVT detected by their ICDs, and a significant percentage experience abrupt onset of VF not preceded by MVT, suggesting that deterioration of rapid MVT is not the only mechanism of VF induction.
