Why the study?
Does recombinant human growth hormone infusion stimulate secretion of very low density lipoprotein in perfused livers from hypophysectomized female rats?
Population
Perfused livers prepared from cortisol/T3-replaced hypophysectomized (hypox) female rats
Comparison

GH may regulate VLDL secretion in rats; hypothesis-generating and should not yet inform human GH use or lipid management.
Does recombinant human growth hormone infusion stimulate secretion of very low density lipoprotein in perfused livers from hypophysectomized female rats?
In vivo growth hormone treatment restores VLDL lipid and apoprotein secretion in hypophysectomized rats, suggesting GH regulates VLDL secretion by altering phospholipid and/or apoprotein availability.
