Supports dantrolene in swine MH model; leaves open human translation pending prospective trials.
Gronert et al. (1976) studied Malignant hyperthermia (n=16). Intravenous dantrolene vs. Supportive therapy only was evaluated on Prevention and treatment of fulminant malignant hyperthermia. Intravenous dantrolene prevented malignant hyperthermia at doses ≥5 mg/kg and reversed fulminant malignant hyperthermia when added to supportive therapy (7.5 mg/kg) in susceptible swine.
