Bani et al. (2008) studied mdx myopathy. mdx myopathy was evaluated on pattern of MMP activity and regenerative capability. In mdx mice, NCAM-positive myofibers appeared in soleus muscles at 2 weeks, gastrocnemius at 12 weeks, and diaphragm at 24 weeks, with increased MMP-2 activity indicating tissue remodeling.
