Aspirin may support multi-day platelet inhibition in cats; leaves open clinical efficacy trials for thromboembolism prevention.
Craig E. Greene (1985) studied this question. Aspirin and propranolol was evaluated on Degree of inhibition of platelet function and duration of antagonism to platelet aggregation. Aspirin at 25 mg/kg consistently inhibited feline platelet function for 3 to 5 days, whereas propranolol at 2.5 to 15 mg had no effect on platelet aggregation.
