Case-Control (n=42)
Does clinically inactive systemic lupus erythematosus affect left ventricular diastolic function compared to healthy controls?
Patients with clinically inactive systemic lupus erythematosus exhibit abnormal left ventricular diastolic function detectable by Doppler echocardiography.
Fujimoto et al. (2008) conducted a case-control in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (n=42). Systemic lupus erythematosus vs. Age-matched healthy women was evaluated on Left ventricular diastolic function (IRT, DHTe, A, A/E, peak dA/dt, -peak dA/dt). Clinically inactive systemic lupus erythematosus was associated with abnormal left ventricular diastolic function, including prolonged IRT and DHTe, compared to healthy controls.
