Key result
Timolol prevents platelet activation during tachycardia stress and reduces ischemic responses during pacing-induced angina.

Does timolol reduce platelet activation and myocardial ischemia during pacing-induced angina in patients with coronary heart disease?
Timolol reduces platelet activation and myocardial ischemia during pacing-induced tachycardia stress in patients with coronary heart disease.
Thaulow et al. (1984) studied Coronary heart disease (n=20). Timolol was evaluated on Platelet activation (ADP-induced aggregation, platelet retention, plasma beta-thromboglobulin) and ischemic response. Timolol administration prevented platelet activation in non-ischemic regions during tachycardia stress and reduced the ischemic response during pacing-induced angina.
