Using a pulsed nanosecond electron beam with an electron energy of 500 keV, during irradiation of an alcohol solution of cerium nitrate, mesoporous nanopowders (NPs) of cerium dioxide (specific surface area (SSA) = 13 m2/g) with variable morphology and high porosity (up to 0.09 cm3/g) were obtained, promising for use as a carrier of medicinal forms. An increase in the photocatalytic activity of the obtained NPs during the decomposition of the methyl violet dye was established, depending on the time (dose) of irradiation of cerium nitrate during radiation-chemical synthesis.
