CGS 24592 infusion increased mean arterial pressure throughout the infusion period and for 20 minutes post-infusion, coinciding with a 62% decrease in plasma Ang-(1-7) and unchanged plasma Ang II.
SCH 39370 elicited an increase in mean blood pressure, and pretreatment with [Sar1,Thr8]-Ang II abolished the pressor responses induced by both neprilysin inhibitors.
Pretreatment with the endothelin A antagonist BQ123 or kinin B2 antagonist HOE 140 did not alter basal blood pressure or the pressor and heart rate responses to neprilysin inhibition.
