The initial depressor response was followed by sustained blood pressure elevations and vasoconstriction across carotid, hindquarter, renal, and mesenteric beds that were quantitatively similar between strains.
Indomethacin did not alter endothelin-1 responses in SH rats, while endothelium removal enhanced aortic contractile sensitivity to endothelin-1 to a greater degree in SH rats than in WKY controls.
