Endothelial dysfunction marks chronic but not developmental 2K1C hypertension; leaves open NO-independent mechanisms for human renovascular hypertension.
In a 2K1C rat model, the endothelium-derived nitric oxide system does not affect the developmental phase of hypertension, but chronic hypertension is associated with impaired endothelium-dependent vasorelaxation.
